Alright, umm I have a question with this robot design. I’m thinking of adding a conveyer to the back of this robot, putting it in the preload zone.
I love this design. Any videos to show how it works? Still waiting for my mix-match kit to come in.
Use a double reverse 4 bar lift
Sorry, I will upload the new and IMPROOOOOVVVEEEEDDDD stack!
I have no idea how to build one XD
It seems like I can’t upload the video… I’ll make it on YouTube then send it 2 u
This video shows in detail how to construct a double reverse four-bar lift. Take a look, as you may find it helpful

I’m confused as to what purpose the yellow pieces serve? They can’t come down to the ground as it would expand the robot beyond the 20" length requirement, no?
I do like the pneumatic system for rotating the claw+pins.
Oh, that was just to add some weight… I don’t have a flywheel thingymabob, I searched everywhere.
Oh, and I saw a video on a robot that had that claw and flipper, I just copied it, I’m changing to a in the zone meta design, but the intake flips, inverting the pins.
Heh… I watched that and more dr4b videos, it proved helpful, as this years game is much like in the zone… I made in the zone meta
I’m glad it helped! The DR4B is a useful mech, due to it’s height and how compact it is. I couldn’t use it in any of my years in ex, as the height rules always restricted it, and the last time it was useful was in tower takeover. However, I am glad the students participating in IQ get to use it this year
I showed my team the VEX IQ video on robotic arms https://kb.vex.com/hc/en-us/articles/4409556822548-Building-VEX-IQ-Robot-Arms and they concluded the dr4b was the best, even if more complicated. Their first two attempts didn’t work/failed, but the third is strong, and they will probably tune it more if they end up going with it (they still seem to love the idea of a linear gear elevator). The busyness of the playing field this season would seem to benefit smaller bots, so the dr4b seems a great choice. We are awaiting our local robotics lab to set up the field to get an idea of just how high the lifting mechanism needs to reach.
I agree! (2o characters)
Oh, and the stand-off goal is like 10 inches max, more if you are like my robot
That looks unstable. Make the 4 bar wider for more stability
Thanks, I did (20 characters)
