In skills robot finishes 1’ autonomous touching a red ball inside the goal. There is only one red ball in the goal. Does the ball count for ownership?
I know it is your first time posting, but please check the game manual before posting. Here is a quote from the manual.
A Ball is considered Scored in a Goal if it is not touching a Robot of the same color as the Ball
Since the bot is touching the ball, the ball is not scored.
Let’s consult the Game Manual!
Appendix B has the following to say about robot color in skills matches:
<RSC2> In Robot Skills Matches, Teams play as if they are on the red Alliance Scoring only red Balls and Owning only red Goals.
Thus, any red balls contacting the robot at the end of a skills challenge match are not scored.
Let’s now look at the definition of “Owned”:
Owned - A Goal status. A Goal is considered Owned by an Alliance if its colored Ball is the vertically highest Scored Ball in that Goal.
Since the goal you describe would have no balls scored in it, it would not be owned by either alliance.
As a side note, during a live remote tournament, balls you are touching can still be scored. But for skills or normal tournaments, no, this ball would not count as scored.
