There have been problems with rubber band intakes on the outside of the robot getting tangled with the robots at every tournament I go to. Will there be rule changes to this? My team alone had to set controllers down 3-4 times.
Rubber band rules have been in place for basically the entire history of VEX. They are very unlikely to change right now.
Some things that you can do to make your rubber bands entangle other teams less is either putting mesh over the rubber bands and zip tying it to your sprokets, or using an alternative to rubber band rollers such as flex wheels. A different way to approach the problem would be trying to play defense against other robots with the back of your robot to not create contact that might lead to entanglement.
I think he means getting stuck with other teams having rubber band intakes, with his own bot having flex wheels.
