Rubber band issues

Hello Vex Community. Our team has had a recent rubber band problem with our catapult. We use a rubber band tensioner so our rubber band is continuously stretching. We use #64 silicone rubber bands. Does anybody have any ideas on how to use the same rubber bands and lower the breaking chance or how to use a new rubber band type and integrate it properly without breaking the robot. Thanks.

our team gets the rubber bands stretched out before putting them on catapult so we know how it is and we do it with those rubber bands. one other way to do it is remove rubber bands after you are done with each match and practice ,and replace them every week.

my team left the ruber bands under tension after practice. when you felt the ruber bands they were increadibly frail. if you want it to stop breaking, release the tension when not in use, and if they keep breaking, lower the tension

We will try stretching it before. Thanks.

We already do but thanks for your help.

Hi, after spending 100’s of hours, $100’s in RECF fees, and over $50 for event costs, it’s cheap to put three brand new rubber bands on the robot before every match. Then it’s the same every time. Buy 2 boxes and play away. Everyone starts a rubber band ball, and you can compare them at your regional event.
