So, I know you cannot be below the low hang bar in order to high hang, but I can’t find in the rules where it says specifically if you need to be totally above the top of the low hang bar or above the bottom of the low hang bar. Any ideas?
Read the definition of “high hanging” in the rules.
Yup. It’s also a subset to the definition of Hanging.
That’s the problem, I can’t find it. Would it be under scoring? Cause that’s where I’m checking
Or maybe my game manual isn’t loading properly
If you do ctrl + f
you can search the whole document. Search for hanging
and click through the results. It might also be in the three little option dots on your phone. In the VEX IQ Hub app, there’s a search feature somewhere. Probably a little magnifying glass on the top.
That would be a high hang, no parts of the hanging mechanism is below the bottom of the low bar. Obviously rest of your robot would have to be above that same bottom bar line as well
For the sake of not having to repeatedly look up the rule, here it is:
Hanging - A Robot status at the end of a Match.
- Low Hanging – A Robot is Low Hanging if it is contacting one of the Hanging Bars, is not contacting the Floor, and is not supported by any Balls. Referees can check to see if a Robot is Low Hanging by sliding a piece of paper between the Robot and the Floor.
- High Hanging – A Robot is High Hanging if it is contacting one of the Hanging Bars, is not supported by any Balls, and is completely above a horizontal plane that is in line with the bottom edge of the lower Hanging Bar. Referees can check to see if a Robot is High Hanging by sliding a VEX IQ part which is 15 holes long (e.g. a 1x15 beam) underneath it.
The robot in question
would be High Hanging because every part of the robot is above the bottom of the lower Hanging Bar (unofficially known as the Low Bar) (as far as I can see).
LETS GOOOOOO!!! Tsym! That is so helpful
It is on page 5, in the game specific definitions.
Just to add, it can be slightly below the bottom of the low bar, as long as it clears 15 pitch.
