SG6 Possession Limit – Clarification

Hey everyone, it’s Sahibroop from 9181X here.

I had a question regarding SG6 and the possession limit for Pins.

Would it be legal to use a Doinker as a guide to push and redirect multiple Pins along the Floor simultaneously?

The Doinker would not be used as an intake or to hold, trap, or retain Pins in any way. It would simply act as a guide to redirect Pins while the robot moves. The Pins would not be fully supported by the Robot and would separate from it if the Robot moved in certain directions.

For reference, here’s a robot reveal showing the type of mechanism I’m talking about:

Based on the possession definition and Example 2 in SG6, my understanding is that this would be considered pushing rather than possession, since the Robot would lose control of the Pins when moving in at least one direction.

Would this interpretation be correct, or could this mechanism still be considered possession of multiple Pins?

Thanks!

That’s legal. Simple rule is that if you can drive in any direction and the pins / cups don’t follow you then you are not possessing them. E.g. a claw, if open, is not possessing a cup / pin until the claw closes - this is a more extreme example than yours. coughs in q&a (but yes this is legal and is considered “plowing” i believe)
