I was just rewatching the Pitching In game reveal when i noticed something strange.
If you look closely at 0:41, the angled beam on the front right of the robot seems to disappear after the robot pulls out from the low goal.
It just… vanishes
It may have been possible to have been edited post production or something. I played the video at 0.25x and saw the peice right as it was disconnected and then simply faded out of existence as though it was Obi-wan Kenobi using force Ghost.
Yeah, post-production is the obvious answer; must have been some good editing. Or it really did just magically disappear
