I’m looking to start a private v5 team. I recently played an order including the super competition kit as well as the field and game elements. But I realized I jumped the gun. I was talking to my friends 1698v and they informed me a of a ton of extra stuff I would need to buy in order to be competitive. He told me to add 5.5 watt motors. flex wheels, and 3.25/2.75 inch omni wheels. He also said motor cartridges were important but he couldn’t remember if smart motors came with them. I noticed that the kit includes 2 36:1 smart motor cartridges on top of the smart motors and was wondering if I needed to buy more or the motors came with some as well if there was any additional parts I needed.
carts do not come with smart motors, to be competitive you will probably need some rotational sensors for odom and some 6p chain and sprockets.
Are the motors usable without cartridges it seems really weird they’d sell you motors you can’t use without additional purchase.
V5 11W Smart Motors are unusable without gear cartridges.
Listen to whatever your friend says. He most likely knows what he’s talking about. I would acutally see if he could put together an entire list for you
They come with green cartridges but you need to purchase red and blue.
All of the 8 vex v5 11 watt motors in the super kit come with green cartridges, and there are 2 36:1 red cartridges as you mentioned. However, there are no blue cartridges, they have to be bought separately.
