Looking to do a structured summer program for my Vex IQ club. Any ideas how to make it structured?
what do you mean by “structured”? it is hard to help if we don’t have your intent.
If you have the elements, you can just do this year’s game. While there will be a lot of things the kids can’t do, this year’s game is definitely something that beginning teams can do. So it’s not the best activity, but it’s easy, and you can use the tournament manager software to give the kids a great experience.
That’s how I structure my summer camp. It’s 4 weeks, and each week is a design cycle with a competition on Friday.
How many kids in the camp? I always do 2 person teams to give the kids the most building experience and so everyone can drive in the competition. (And if a kid really doesn’t want to drive, the other one can drive and the one can load.) So even if you only have like 8 kids, you can have a few teams and make an event out of it. 12-16 works better depending on how many kids and kits you have and your level of commitment.
