Also, as I’ve already mentioned, some of the plates are different than “listed” because our teams work collaboratively, and our team tags are pretty much arbitrary.

Color coding your robots and controllers is an awesome idea! I remember being late to matches because our other team accidentally used our joystick

Ideas can be copied onto an already good robot, though. Falling over your robot on purpose and putting wheels on your intake so you can still be mobile in that state could be used against 404 by a good team whom 404 might otherwise have beaten.
I’m not against copying, I’m just arguing against the assertion that copying is never effective. It quite obviously is, especially if what you are copying is a simple and modular robot component rather than a whole robot.
A lot of high school teams whom AURA could never hope to beat use 6-bars, for example. While some teams probably came up with the idea independently, I imagine most probably saw someone else doing it before they had a chance to invent it themselves.
Why does the 404E Robot have a 404C plate on it?
I think this photo was taken before a regional competition in which we originally registered 404C, but after we build the robot we decided to try out this robot in the tournament, so we just put the C-plate on.
Our team work collectively, so plate names don’t really matter. I highly suggest teams to recognize our robots by color instead of by tags LOLLLL

Besides, we are not silly enough to release robot and strategy reveals without counter-strategies, counter-counter strategies, and SIGNIFICANTLY better new designs coming to world! So we are not worried at all about copies.
TBH, all of our robots are already under reconstruction and will all be MUCH stronger than they are at Nationals.
Once again, I welcome all teams to come to our pits at World!! We would LOVE to discuss strategies or simply chat for fun or exchange experiences!! Anaheim, California is like Team 404’s hometown, so we would love to act as hosts to welcome out of state teams and international players!!
LOLLL We already have all new strategies and designs and add-ons for 404Yellow! I promise the 404Yellow you see here will be nothing compare to what it will be at world 
Here is a hint: it will be a direct counter of tipping wall-bot at Nationals rendering all potential copies ineffective.

hahaha, counter-counter strategy is essential Cuz an opponent can either copy us, in which we counter, or counter us, in which we counter-counter
But of course my favorite matches are when two completely different strategies clashes!!! So much EXCITEMENT IN THAT!!!
