Tray Bot concept for rise above

I also think that it would be a pretty effective design, but I have a few concerns.

  1. The height and length of the tray with three Risers in it could make the robot tip back (easily remedied with anti-tips) and even knock over other stacks three high.
  2. I think that it would take a while to tilt and drop the risers into the goal.
  3. Picking up stacked cubes from an angle in Tower Takeover was incredibly hard, and was one of the main engineering problems. So picking up risers like that instead of cubes would be super duper difficult.
  4. Flipouts are never not annoying to deal with. (but that doesn’t mean they’re not crazy cool!
  1. This sounds pretty good, but it also seems like it would be pretty hard for the driver to align correctly. Also with the tray at a 45 degree angle, it’d just be so tough!

Now, it’s really not all bad though. I really think that this could be a competitive design, with a couple of differences.

For example: Perhaps the tilting time could be eliminated by not having it be at a 45 degree angle. Instead just flip out straight up and keep it that way the whole match.

I definetely don’t think that this is the best design, (I don’t think that it’s been discovered yet, but I could be wrong), or even in the top couple of robot designs, but it still seems like a really cool robot to try out! The judges love to see creative robot ideas, just don’t assume it will be the best robot.

TL;DR
In my opinion, tray bots are cool, but not the greatest robot.

Thanks for reading this huge post lol.
