My team was wondering which events can qualify for the U.S. Open. On the RobotEvents page, it lists the requirements as winning any of these awards below. Is this true for all tournaments? Do tournaments that are blended middle school and high school eligible to qualify for the U.S. Open?
I think you answered your question by finding the best information available in that screen capture. It says “All official 2023-2024 VRC tournaments” in the information.
I can also confirm that a blended VRC event would be included, as we just received an invite for our team that won an award at a blended VRC event.
Also, as your screen shot shows, the best way to get questions answered about the event is to email the support email that they provided.
invites usually don’t come out immediately, state invites are usually pretty quick but a us open qualification from the same event took nearly a week
Hello, sorry to ask. I just moved up from VRC middle school to VRC high school, and also moved regions. I am right on the border of my previous region to. I am just wondering how the criteria would work for if my team were to earn an award that would qualify for the U.S. Open that was actually outside of our region, this is due to the fact that this award would not qualify for our regional championship, but I would think it would qualify us for the U.S. Open. So my question is do you have to be in your region to to earn a spot at the U.S. Open, similar to having to be in your region to earn a spot at your regional championship , thank you!
