@MasterCole that would be great thing to do! A lot of novice teams, both students and parents would benefit tremendously from the community maintained “Getting Started” document that is constantly maintained up-to-date.

The irony was that first attempt of practice wiki pages we tried had a ton of issues with proposed format and was quickly abandoned.
Discourse has several guidelines for implementing wikis on their platform, but that calls for some level of admin support:

However, the best way may be to start small with several very focused guides and an index into already existing resources.
Both this forum and many external sites already have a lot of very useful material but the problem is that it is not well linked to be easily discoverable by the novice teams. Even forum veterans may have hard time tracking some info with image attachments and intra-forum links broken after several forum migrations.
If the community could create and maintain several Getting Started guides, the best way for IFI to support such effort may be to let it be hosted on the vexfoum platform with, at least, some admin support to limit permissions to the special group of editors or TL3 regulars.
Also, as @Foster said @ManicMechanic may have posted the great new user’s guides in the past forum threads, but they could only realize their potential if new users could get to them within a few clicks after they join the forum.
It is not very useful for a new teams if they have no idea where and what to search for, however they are the ones who need that help the most.
