Hi,
Having issues upgrading the FW for a Smart Field Controller. The brain will not show up in the VEX Code extension for Visual Studio.
Brain is currently running VEXos1.1.2. Connectiving via USB to Win11 laptop running 25H2.
Troubleshooting steps I’ve tried:
Downloaded the VEX Drivers.
Can connect to brain and install the FC Match and FC Skills Apps.
Tested usb cable with a controller. Controller will appear is VS Vex extension.
Used online reset tool to reset the brain. Redownloaded FC Match and FC Skills Apps.
Brain shows up in Device Manger on computer.
Am I missing a setting or something to get the brain to talk with VS?
The latest extension, 0.7, broke updating event brains, you should be fine on 1.1.2
Thank you! We are testing the field controllers and are running into this issue:
When we start the field display from TM, it does not show the brain status for the connected brains. All we see is a red rectangle, a blue rectangle, but no information about the connected brains.
We ARE able to:
- See the status of the connected brains on the field controller.
- See the status of the connected brains on the TM match control screen.
- Successfully run matches.
- We are running the latest version of TM and 1.1.2 on the field controller.
Any troubleshooting tips? Could this be a bug?
sounds more like a TM configuration issue, I see no issues with latest TM on my system here.
Usually you might see just the two colored rectangles if a match was not queued or something like that, but I’m not a TM expert and only use it occasionally.
Solution: Looks like we had a bad USB connection to the controller. Tested with a different controller and it is working now.
