During last years competition the use of 3D upon our robots was allowed, but it seems like we might not be able to do so this competition year. Of course I’ve seen this outside of the license plate for the robot, so what is the clarification on this.
So, as far as im aware for IQ (which is the category you put this in) ALL 3d printing except for decorations is and has been illegal as long as Vex IQ has existed.
My understanding is that it is illegal in V5RC with the exception of license plates, decorations, and controller mods.

No, 3D parts have never been allowed in VIQ or VRC. You can use 3D prints to make decorations.
