On the V5 brain where you get to see the devices torque/rpm/power draw etc there’s a graph in the box labeled torque, and it shows the motor curve. This graph, if I understand it correctly, shows that the motor will have a higher torque if it moves at a lower RPM. Also, this graph + the vex website …

Max torque for a motor with 36:1 gears (100rpm) is 2.1Nm, torque for 18:1 gears is half that. you can select the correct gears by touching the top left gear setting in the motor dashboard. It will be set automatically if you are running a user program.
