VEX IQ Gen 1 Brain issue - Display not working - Not staying powered on

Hello all!

Need some help from the tech gurus here!
I have a generation 1 brain that powers on (you can hear the sound) but nothing is shown on the brain display. When pushing the check button again, you hear it powering on again. I have tried multiple fresh batteries and it’s not a battery issue. I had powered it on yesterday to run a firmware update and it was working perfectly fine. Today, as my students were working with it, they told me it wouldn’t power on and nothing was on the display. Thoughts?

You can try to do a hard reset. This thread talks about it, the last post is the one you want. You will then reload the software.

Vex IQ Reset

Hey Crispierry, All you need to do is boot the brain in “Update Mode” (or DFU mode). To do that, power down your brain and then power it back on while holding down both the up and down arrow buttons. This will force the brain into “Update Mode” and when you plug it into the PC with the VEXos Utility running it will recognize that it needs and update. Then just click the update button and you should be good to go. Thanks Levi

I’ve tried that, but for some reason the brain won’t stay powered on long enough to let that even happen. Thanks for the assist, though! I truly appreciate it!
