Hello, I and my team have some general questions about the booths that we would like answers to, so if you have any insight into any of these questions, please reply!
What should we give away in the “gift bags” ? I heard that people usually give little trinkets away to other teams, and I was wondering if anyone knows what kind of stuff they give away.
How big are the booths? I know this may seem like a dumb question but we were wondering if we could fit a practice field in the booth to practice on during downtime between matches.
Should we bring a banner of some sort and hang it in the booth?
How far are the booths from the main competing area?
That’s all for now, and if you have any answers I would wholeheartedly appreciate it!
First thing to do, is call them pits instead of booths, and they are about 10 ft by 10 ft, assuming they are the same as they have been for every other worlds in the past.
Many teams bring things to give away, many teams hang banners or decorate their pits in in some fashion. Usually you get a folding table and two chairs in your pit, along with a source of power. Bring a power bar. Be ready to walk, sometimes a long way. You might think about bringing a folding wagon or cart.
Our teams are the InvestiGators, so we hand-make these from clothespins and then have fun stealth-clipping them onto other teams to spread luck, as well as giving them out to alliance partners. Not everyone brings things, some bring candy/snacks, or other handouts like stickers, bracelets, etc.
Offhand, no. It was actually the coach for our teams that came up with the gator clip idea, and she stayed up until like 3am the night before State in 2019 making them.
Your gators are cool!
Our team has some questions too. What is the cost to attend the closing ceremonies at World Championship? Will all teams be able to attend the 2023-2024 game unveil? Are parents able to attend the game unveiling?
