SG6 has the match load rules and nothing in it says that you can’t steal, but you can’t place any acorns into the opponents load zone.
Vertical expansion is unlimited, however, your robot must start being able to fit in and 18" x 18" x 18" area.
SG2b says, “There is no height limit on Robot expansion”
One interesting exploit is someone making a bot that expands 36”; enough to block the entire enemy goal just by standing in from of it. This actually makes the game very intense and strategy dependent!
Yeah, you could also probably just tell a weaker alliance partner to stand in front of the opponent’s loading zone to block any robots from using it.
Another cool thing is that you CANNOT touch the yellow cap for climb to be counted. This means that buddy-climb is a must-have for J-level.
One important rule question may be the legality of blocking access to elevation bars in the endgame.
For example, if a red robot stands in front of blue’s elevation bar to delay/block the climb, but then blue pushes red forward so as red is now getting pinned/contacting against the blue elevation within the last 30 seconds, does red get penalized? On one hand, red is in violation of <SG11>, especially since they were initially having the intent to block climbs (so perhaps they assume this risk?). On the other hand, blue did force red into the bar…
Another question I have is forcing double-zoning.
If a blue robot pushes a red robot over to the other side where the other red bot is, does this count as double-zoning?
More about the match loaders it says that the robot only has to be contacting the march load bar the goes across the zone to put it in the robot that being said could I put it in my robot even if it is not hanging over the bar but only touching it like it says
That’s also an interesting question because it could be deiced that the other red robot (the one that was not pushed) had the choice of retreating to avoid the double-zone.
Plus, “not forcing an opponent into a penalty” may not apply because it could be determined that double-zoning and the ‘unprotection’ of your tribals is not a “penalty” as it is just a function of the game, and no rules were actually broken.
I know you can’t de-score acorns on the opposing alliance’s side. What if there is a blue acorn in a red goal, and the red alliance attempts to de-score the blue acorn that’s on their own offensive side. Is this in violation of any rules?
Also, do you think the robot on the opposite side of the field for autonomous is allowed to shoot acorns into their own offensive zone? They wouldn’t be interacting with any tiles or elements on the other side, but they would be attempting to give their alliance more points by putting acorns into their offensive zone during auton. This might not be allowed but I was just wondering/hoping.
Please read the manual, all of your questions can be answered in there.
As far as i can tell there are no rules against launching them across the barrier as long as they don’t bounce out of the field
The double-zoning rule only applies to your opponents goal, it says nothing about your own goal.
As for the alliance triballs in general, it does not appear that they are protected in any way. That may change as they year progresses though, but I don’t see that happening
You can de-score if the opponents are double-zoning.
The red alliance would be in violation <SG8> if blue was not double-zoned during the duration of the interaction. If blue was double-zoned, then red is perfectly legal to do so.
That is definitely the idea of autonomous. As long as your robot doesn’t interact with any objects on the other side, you will be fine. On your above post on acorns in your own net, there is nothing against that, but it would be difficult to descore one acorn and not anything else.
SG8 only applies to an opponent’s goal. I see no rules prohibiting interaction with triballs in your own goal.
Can’t be touching any field barriers for double zoning to count. I imagine that’s gonna cause issues in matches (eg. penning against a barrier to protect tri-balls)
A buddy climb would be a PAIN for random alliances though
