Vex rubber bands

sorry i used them in iq they were legal and am still useing them
but im pretty sure it IS LEGAL though right

They’re the same thing. If u go on the vex err website and look up rubber bands it refers u to the iq page

It makes no sense for vex to suddenly disallow #32 or #64 rubber bands.

If I recall correctly, somebody from vex last year was talking about expanding the legal options for rubber bands.

https://www.robotevents.com/VRC/2018-2019/QA/82 So, if you had rubber bands that were identical in size and material to VEX rubber bands, but were a different color, these would be legal.

Granted, this was a Turning Point Q&A so it doesn’t technically transfer over - however, since the concept and wording is identical, and it is the same stance taken in prior years, I would see no reason to not accept any 32 or 64 rubber band of the same general material.

The Q&A from last year said:

So, if you had rubber bands that were identical in size and material to VEX rubber bands, but were a different color, these would be legal.

So for VRC it has to be the same material. For IQ it doesn’t. I suppose someone should post the question again to the Q&A, but given that their response last year was simply restating exactly what the manual said, then I don’t know if it’s necessary.

The material you can use that is identical to VEX is:

• Latex-free Synthetic Rubber
• Silicone
