VEX SnapCAD Library Updates

Our teams have been using SnapCAD extensively the last two years. Are there any plans to update the library of parts to include many of the parts made in the past 2 years? Some older VEX parts where never included but it would be nice to have them, including newer game elements from rise above.

Assuming that you have a VEX-provided STEP file for a part, generating a LDraw/SnapCAD-compatible part file is doable. I described a procedure for doing that in this post (expand the details section):

This question was a bit of a nerd-snipe for me, but after a bit of tinkering around I was able to generate a part file for the octagonal truss. Here it is: 228-2500-1381.dat.zip (623.1 KB) To get this into your LDraw Parts library: Unzip the file to get “228-2500-1381.dat”. Find the SnapCAD folder, mine was at C:\Program Files (x86)\VEX Robotics\SnapCAD Copy “228-2500-1381.dat” into the parts folder. Thanks. I was able to view the part you created in SnapCAD and use it but I am having troubles figuring the import/export via SolidWorks. As during importing, the step file is a list of bodies that cannot be quickly exported.
