After tipping point ended, I asked my robotics mentor if I could turn an old goal post into a lamp. He told me to go for it. I 3D modeled a fitting that held a socket onto the grey post on the goals then I ran the wire through the pole. Here it is, sorry for the really late post, I completely forgot I made this till now.
Welcome!
Y’know- I would just like it but I just gotta like- put my admiration for what you were able to do in words. Like- WOAH.
Like- that’s one of the smartest things I’ve heard someone do with the leftover game pieces, this is like- really creative!
And it seems like it works wonderfully too! ![]()
I just gotta ask- Is the color that the light bulb lets off red or is it white and it just reflects the goal post?
Again, this is REALLY cool, like- more than just really cool but i dunno if there’s words for that!
The light bulb is an RGB smart bulb you can control through your phone or Alexa/Google. I wanted something I could change the color of so I could match the color of the goal. The socket on it takes any standard size light bulb. And thank you. Originally it was a joke on my team because I said that the goals reminded me of a lamp. Then I made it a reality.
what if someone does this with a mobile goal, that would be pretty cool…
That is an awesome idea, you should make a high stakes lamp like that as well. Great job!
Neat, will you made the 3D model available for your adapter? Might be applicable to other game mobile goals.
