I don’t need to say it. What are we thinking?
ITZ 2.0 plus 2004 FRC
Why even put robots on the platform? Why not just place mobile goals on the platform.
Also, I’m glad I saves my itz cad files
I think maybe a modified claw bot using baseplates
I feel like everyone will go for the strategy of placing the goals on the platform.
Also I’m going to take an educated guess and say that dr4bl will dominate the field next year
Well, the opponent can probably steal the mobile goals from the platform. But stealing a robot would be a lot harder.
I disagree. Why even go for rings when you could just get mobile goals. Its itz all over again?
I meant at the end.
Im thinking a dr4b with intakes that put the rigns on the posts vertically. Then a massive intake in the back to carry mobile goals
So itz basically but with a balance beam
Yeah, but i cant wait to see the IQ game
I’m just going to say it. I hate building rd4b lifts
There are 72 rings. Each ring can be worth between 1 and 10. That’s a theoretical maximum of 720 points for rings alone. (We’re going to ignore trying to get all those rings to hang.)
Think of how long it would take to get all of those rings. With an itz style mogo lift you could get 100 pts in under 30 secs if ur good.
Definitely the way to go for skills
My gosh, finally got regular again
36" horizontal expansion limit, so it seems like wallbots are out of luck. Can anyone confirm that I’m not being dumb, and that there’s indeed a 36" horizontal expansion limit per SG2?
you arent dumb
Seems to me like the skills strat is going to be to get as many goals on the platforms as possible. If someone can build a 4 goal hoarder, and get the other 3 on the opposite platform thats 310 pts right there
Makes sense to do that, as a wallbot could easily block off almost all of the mobile goals if done effectively, although I do worry that it might throw the meta towards a one-bot design similar to Change Up with the restriction.
passive intake on a dr4b???
I was never a part of robotics when ITZ came out and I’ve never really taken the time to look back at the old robots from that game, but I will definitely need to do that. Looking at the game reveal I’m just thinking forklift. Tough with a basic it limits your carrying capacity by a lot so I’m thinking more of a tiered forklift. I know this is a really basic kinda obvious design and I’m still sketching out a bunch more designs.
