We’re running an arm/lift mechanism on our V5 hero bot for override. The chain that drives the arm keeps breaking. Looking for advice on what’s causing it and how to fix it.
Two things I could think of here -
- Is your chain over tightened? You could try adding an extra link or two of chain to see if that helps.
- Are you using the wrong kind of chain? The IQ chain which is used for the low strength sprockets looks pretty similar to the HS Chain you should be using.
Use two of the H.D. chains . During coimpetitions, broken chains are commonplace, so build in resilience and durability with two of the H.D. chains when possible. Also, chain alignment matters, chain tension matters, chain loads matter. Let’s see some clear pictures of the setup.
