Vidoe Recordings of match for reffing

Its my understanding that vidoes can not be used to solve match violation disputes… (etc) what is the reasoning for this?

Have you seen what instant replay does in the NFL or other major sports that use it? Every match would get dragged out for so much longer while folks try to air grievances. And video may not clearly show everything; as was pointed out on a previous thread last week, video can’t show if a string is actually touching a tile or not, so it can’t even be a complete record for all cases.

Keeps things moving along at a reasonable pace, really.

there is no ideal perspective - the Referee is applying the rules as they are seeing the game played.
