Doing some really rough estimating and assuming (for a teamwork match):
- Both robots start with a ball loaded
- Loading a ball, passing a ball, and shooting a ball each take 1 second
- Loading and Shooting take place simultaneously
- Every ball shot counts as a goal
- There is always a ball ready to load immediately when needed
I get 30 passes and 31 goals in 60 seconds, which gives a score of 395 with 4 clear switches, 334 with 3, 273 with 2, and 152 with 1.
I don’t think that’s likely to be achieved even by the most practiced and regimented teams though, simply because getting a ball from the pickup zone to the loading station in 2 seconds seems like a stretch.
If we further assume that with rapid loading both robots can shoot once per second in the last 15 seconds, that gets 53 goals, but only 23 passes, and a total score of 333 with 4 switches cleared, 286 with 3, 239 with 2, and 146 with 1.
Clearly the passing bonuses are worth the slower loading in this contrived scenario, but I’m interested to see how it will play out in practice.
