So I have recently seen a new conveyor intake system growing quite viral and popular amongst the VIQRC community and I was wondering whether anyone would know the step by step guide in building one of these. If you haven’t yet seen the robot design idea, here is the link: https://www.youtube.com/shorts/vtRjuF4eiuw
If anyone has access to any form of link or building instruction to construct this, it would be extremely helpful.
It would be a violation of rule R2 for someone to provide you, and for you to build from, step by step instructions. If your team’s skill level is “building from instructions,” then you are provided with plans from VEX for the “herobot” training design until your team has enough skill to build your own design, which could be inspired by something you see, but the design and plan must be your own. This is the essence of rule R2.
@kmmohn is absolutely correct. Aside from just being against the rules, it sours the experience for everyone else. There is very little in VEX that is more discouraging than going to a competition and seeing domination by 7-8 teams with exactly identical robots or a good robot that has instructions on how to build it posted online. This discourages others and pressures them into breaking G2/G4, which furthers the problem in the region. I have seen people from multiple extremely competitive regions openly admit to breaking these rules because of this. While that certainly doesn’t excuse student centered policy violations, it is a reason not to use instructions.
I don’t know much about VEX IQ but I think many teams are pretty successful with Ben Lipper robots. So far for Mix & Match I think he has only posted one robot, a Robot in 24 hours (Ri24h) using an arm, not a conveyor.
This is an oxymoron…
