So its like a catapult/slingshot? If so you could use pneumatics
yes but we don’t have pneumatics available
You could use a ratchet off of one of your subsystems and attach that ratchet to a slip gear. When the slip gear disengages with another gear with a catapult, it launches the string.
I have this wildly dumb idea for shooting a string out, and I would draw it but I’m terrible at drawing blueprints. It involves feeding the weight of the string into your flywheel, or a separate one for that matter to shoot it out into the field with the end of your string attached to your robot of course.
Criticisms and denouncements are welcome. Also,
my team would like to know how to shoot out a corner of a net that would effectively touch the other side of the field in a quick manner if any of y’all could help us with that.
This is an amazing idea. Go out and test it, then notebook it. Its got some problems to be solved, but hey it could be really cool. You don’t know.
Keep your string far far away from your flywheel.
I can’t remember the number, but I definitely watched a team do this on the MOA practice fields.
Try using the templates from the VEX Digital Notebook:
I read that it says to feed your weight into the flywheel but not the string.
