Want to see them they might like cool
hey @RandomApple.
Please be more specific in what you’re asking for. I think people might be wondering exactly what you’re looking for.
Thanks
I think he means robot ideas for this years VEX IQ game, Squared Away.
Peoples robots that’s what I am wondering
My roboteers haven’t gotten that far yet, but they have only had a couple practices… game analysis… strategy brainstorm and selection… plan… then brainstorm and selection of their base. They are almost finished it… next in their plan is testing the base and deciding on what steering/driving system before moving to brainstorm around handling the cubes
Hooks which tilt up cubes to drag them across the field are a decent idea. I would talk to your team members and try to prototype some designs.
I have a question about the code, so i use vex iq and im trying to make a auto collision detection for the distance sensor i have if f down pressed move forward until distance sensor is within 5 inches than it says move backwards and than it says turn 90 degrees it just doesn’t stop turning i tried like everything and it doesn’t work can somebody please help, than would be lovely
What is the code supposed to do?
Edit: also put the code on the forum, it helps us help you.
When the button is pressed it move forward until distance is within 5 inches moves bac 5 inches turns right but it never stops turning??? which is the problem it says only 90 degrees
If you replace your “turn to heading” block with “turn right for 180 degrees” does that work?
Do you have a gyro configured on the drivetrain settings? Is the port number correct? Does the gyro look like it is working fine in the Device Info screen accessed via Settings menu on the IQ Brain itself?
Our team doesn’t use the Vex IQ Blocks. We use RobotC. I could be wrong, but I believe they deal with the gyro in the same way. Are you turning right or left to 180 degrees? Turning right will never get to 180 degrees since it’s negative. right turns on the gyro will go in the negative direction, while left turns on the gyro will be positive direction. You can see the arrow marking on the top of the gyro. It will indicate which direction is the positive spin, which should be to the left.
That would be better said in a new topic under the chit chat category
Because the VEX IQ forum is integrated with VEX EDR’s forum, it is our responsibility to set a good example.
I just want to point out that swearing is prohibited in this forum, even if it is an abbreviation.
Before you post ask yourself “Does this really contribute positively to the discussion?”
The intent of VEXForum is to inform and help other teams, not to create drama.
I am sorry but you really should respond with something more beneficial on this forum. This is your thread. We are not obligated to respond to you, so it is your best interest to respect everyone and their opinions even if you disagree, and discuss everything in a peaceful and mature manner.
Sorry for being immature. I also believe that being in the iq forum, I should be more careful about what I say and the impression I give off. I won’t be responding any more to this issue as I don’t won’t to further derail the topic. Thank you for pointing this out for me and I hope to take this as a learning experience.
great response. Looking forward to seeing great contributions from you in the forum!
