So I know all of the HS teams and all of that. But I want to see ms for what it is going to be like. That is all I want.
Uhh in Washington I assume 938m and 938z will dominate, but I only know regional stuff cuz not many ms events yet
I was in middle school last year in Cali r4, best teams were usually the private ones (moonshot, apex, etc., but they in hs now). In terms of schools the 8838 and 3324 teams were always really good.

I’m in ms and North Gwinnett absolutely dominates every competition we go to (so much so that the final is always no surprise: North Gwinnett and North Gwinnett versus North Gwinnett and North Gwinnett.
sadly, I have realised that moonshot is no longer a private team but part of a larger organization called AK robotics. They are a prominent Chinese organization that is very successful in asian and world championships. Power beans is part of this too btw
moonshot is run under EZ-robotics in California, not AK Robotics
Interesting, did not hear anything about that. But with how good private teams are getting it’s not surprising. Moonshot was a school team but they got offered to move to private last year. Amirite was 8838D last year, and they went private this year for high school.

Yeah, the private vs school team changes are getting harder to keep track of. Some teams seem to improve a ton from one season to the next, so last year’s reputation doesn’t always tell you much about how they’re doing now.
Coming from a region/country that is currently grappling with all these issues of certain robotics academies blurring the lines of student-centreness, I can understanding why @TibTy is taking it seriously.
And since beginning of this year, I have made it very clear to all my students that we will not be associated with any of these sorts of academies.

X TERRA BOTS you might want to watch out for them, @5020_Offical might know who i’m talking about. they didn’t win tennesse state last year, the tater bots did. they are SOOO good. we were there for them from the start. they also give everyone they go with a silly 3D printed potato with the team name on it’s butt. i have one, i’ll reply to this comment once i find it.
