What CAD to use?

I have been using Protobot, but there are some parts missing and some things that I find lacking about the program in general. Ideally something that’s easy to share so that I could show progress to the rest of my team and they can work on it with me. Also downloading programs is not an issue for me and I actually prefer it over websites.

I’ve been using onshape with the V5 parts library.

Just making sure, are you using Protobot Rebuilt or the old Protobot Beta? There’s a big difference.

By the way, the missing parts and things lacking are mostly fixed in protobot rebuilt, a fork that’s still maintained and generally improved.

Is Protobot Rebuilt compatible with Protobot Beta?

Yes, some of the wheels may appear differently, but you can open things cadded in beta.

You may want to use updated or modern protobot and download the extensions for it
