What can i do if only one of my wheels work on my robots?

I have been trying coding for countless times, for the robot, and the left motor or the left wheel just doesn’t move, what should i do in that particular situations?

Hi, welcome to the forum! First, you’re going to need to find out the source of the problem. Is it a code issue, or is it a problem with the physical robot?

Code issue:

  1. Make sure the left motor is plugged and coded into the right port.
  2. Be sure you coded the controller correctly.

Physical Robot Issue:

  1. Make sure your left motor spins, even when disconnected from the drivetrain.
  2. Be sure you have no friction on the left side of your robot
  3. Make sure all of your drive shafts are fully within the motor

Hope this helps!

P.S. Pictures and videos always help!

maybe the square thingy in the middle is rounded or the axel is rounded.

If I were you. I would just switch to a new set of motors and wheels

I’ve had a problem like this before
Try putting some space between the wheel and the gear- then you need to clean the wheel (it can get gunk on it that hightens friction when used on things like carpet or so..)
If that doesn’t help then make sure that the gears on your left wheel are connected (Spin it by hand and see if the other gear moves (for both sides)) and check if the driver gear is properly inside of the motor (they may shimmy out sometimes)
Hope that helps.

Interesting, your VEX Air drone has wheels?

Please categorize your topics correctly, so you can get the help you need. If you categorize your topics under IQ, which I assume is what you participate in, the IQ forum members would get a little notification and would be alerted to help you. And speaking of that help,

Might want to give this a quick read. Would greatly help to improve the quality of future posts, which in turn will greatly improve the quality of help you can receive.

Welcome to the forum!

It would be incredibly helpful for us people here on the forum if you could post an image of the problem. My best guess off of the description you gave me is that your pieces on either side of the wheel are too tight and its a spacing issue. If your right side is working, make sure that you have copied that side exactly onto the left side (mirrored obviously). If the issue still persists, it could be a faulty or broken motor.

Hope this helps!
