What drivetrain are you running?

self explanatory. [We are using an xdrive (no gears)]

We’re running tank drive on 2.75in Omni Wheels geared from 600 rpm to 450.

We are using a 450 rpm x drive on 2.75 inch wheels

44w 450rpm on 3.25. Only 4 wheels. Mix of sprockets and gears ( back wheels will spin no matter if chains break) we ran this all through great planes and had 0 issues with chain breaking.

My team’s running a 4-motor H(?)-drive setup. I’m probably going to add an actual gear system instead of the independent motors (:grimacing:) we have now, but we’ve got like 4 different projects running at once on our bot so

Steel 17.5"x17.5"x2" frame with Omni-omni-traction-omni, the cross bearings, dual spine setup, 6 motors (neutral) on 3:5 gears with 3.25" wheels and screw joints. Toque increases with weight (and we have a pneumatic toggle and another pneumatic secret weapon)

yk I used to be against chain drives in v5. but that is one nice chain drive. great job!

Do you think the chain would break at all during the season? And if it does, how much would you lose? Just wondering.

my team is making a poor attempt at a 6 wheel drivetrain (we’re planning on using this as a prototype drivetrain for now and will probably try to add gears to it in the future)
this is a older image, we now have a brain and other stuff with two additional motors at the front since it wasnt powerful enough to move with two rear motors

Some time during the season it will probably break once or twice, that is why we double chain it. Also the back wheels are connected by gears to the motors, so we will never loose out on movement.
