What is better mecanum or x drive?

I want to make a strafing drive for next year. Both x drive and mecanum are good for this but which is better?

I would say either an X-drive or a more obscure version called an Asterisk Drive would be more reliable due to having the same output speed and power in all directions. With a mecanum drive, forwards/backwards have more power than strafing.

the 66w Mecanums that have been circulating V-Cad are byfar the best option. gives you an easy to build on base without weird 45degree gussets

I would say for most teams, x drive; however, I have seen some people running 2in mechnam wheels on 600rpm which is really fast and works super well

The reason strafing is slower is because the sides are moving in opposite directions. Because of this they arent working together and the mecanum wheels are making it strafe

No, please do not use mecanum wheels on an X-drive…
It’s basically a tank drive because it can’t strafe
