I was looking at this years online challenges and was quite confused on what defined a game element compared to a game piece of a field element. if you have any photos that would help
An example of a game element might include the pin for this year’s mix and match, or a beam. (Basically the objects used to score).
In VIQRC, a “game element” refers to objects that robots interact with to score points, while “field elements” are the static parts of the field. “Game pieces” is a similar term often used interchangeably with “game elements”, but technically it’s not defined in the actual manual.
would the targets from last year also be counted in this or is it just the balls from rapid relay
the targets are “field elements” and the balls are “game elements.” So, although the target doesn’t count as a game element, you could still incorporate it into your submission for the challenge.
what about the parts from slapshot u know the different towers that allowed u to get disks
Disc towers are still field elements. The discs would be an example of a game element in that case. But again, you could still incorporate the disc towers into your submission! It would be a creative addition to whatever you’re going for.
