Just to clarify, the example I gave was the worst case scenario and my information that the divisions will be finalised after inspection comes from the rest of vexforum.
I am aware.
But I am not exactly sure how you define “the rest of vexforum” though.
Coz i see myself as part of the forum but definitely it is not from me.
Anyway, just to clarify, I am just citing based on past years worlds practices.
But the timeline does changed year to year. And with this year in a new venue plus more divisions, things might be slightly different.
I do know RECF does try their best to provide the division list and match schedule out as soon as they can. Eg. Heard this year check-in will be done online? This might help to cut down some time and get the match schedule out a bit earlier.

First timer here, I was wondering if the kiddos will receive any type of anything just for making it to worlds? Not an award but a medal, pin, or anything like that?
There’s been a worlds “medal” for every participant in the past. Don’t see any reason it wouldn’t be done again. (This is about the only “participation trophy” I agree with! Participating at worlds is a big deal).
Thank you for your response. I had hoped there would be something
although the experience alone is a reward itself.
are peeps gonna wear masks at worlds?
ngl the masks are kinda fire esp. the group fits
I am wearing a mask at worlds.
I will be as well.
(KF94 all the way, if anyone’s still looking for a comfortable all-day mask reccomendation)
What should our team pack in terms of parts? We’re trying to pack minimally but I also don’t want to be unprepared. (First timer)
As much as you can. I heard from my sister teams that a robot will get absolutely destroyed on the plane so packing extra parts is good.
If you qualify with the rest of your team but can’t go, do you still get a medal, or do only people who walk in the door get a medal? Like could your teammates ask for one for you?
I suppose it’s better to take it in carry-on than in the belly? What about a field? You could ship a field (IQ in my case), but that’s money… would it hurt the field?
In prior in-person worlds, your mentor/coach would pick up the medals, telling the RECF volunteer how many were needed. I can’t tell you how it will be this year, but there’s no reason to think it would be any different.
How should we decorate our pits. Does anyone have any recommendations on what to put there
Most teams have a banner, many teams also have a game we’re you can win a small trinket or hand kit candy
Where do you get the banner?
Actually there were years that even the participation medals are controlled - they looked at the number of members attending (based on registration) and then issued out the medals accordingly.
There were also some odd years that I managed to get an extra for myself.
And this leads me to the medals for the division champions, etc. So far it has been very limited number of medals given out. In fact there was one year that my team only received 3 medals for division champion (for the drive team). I feel sad for those not in the drive team and those not able to travel. And I feel sad for myself as well - sob… i never have a single medal even after being the mentor for so many years.
They really should hand out medals for mentors, we couldn’t have gone to worlds without them
There are plenty of companies that will make custom banners there isn’t a specific place where everyone gets their banners.
