If you are talking about the VEX REC split, it is up to the teams. It appears most are going with VEX and global for this year. The real debate happens towards the end of the season. If you are undecided, I would suggest seeing how many tournaments are offered in your area. It will likely help you decide for this season. If you have teams or schools you are close to, I would talk to them about next season more towards the end of the year.
There is a new web site called events.vex.com, which is very similar to the old robot events. Interestingly, my account still works there. There will be much fewer competitions in our region and the capacity of each competition is also much smaller, though. NerdyNerd327, what is the web site for REC? What kind of robots will they use? With the split with RECF how are VEX competitions doing scoring? Tournament manager was an RECF product correct? Has VEX created its own scoring platform that will be used?
Tournament Manager belongs to VEX to run competitions under GRSF umbrella. Scoring will use the scoring rules in Game Manuals.
RECF has their own competition manager for their games.
It is somewhat confusing times.

Tournament Manager latest updates are done through VEX - I think you need to have EP status and registered event to download it.
In events.vex.com, it looks that only 4 organizations will compete this year in our region. Not sure if it is worth joining them.
The latest details depend on the robotics program and region. Usually, teams start with local/regional qualifiers, then advance to larger championship events. The official season calendar should have the current dates, locations, and competition format.
