Will VEX ever consider having all teams that are above top1% on robot skill world standing attending VEX world?

In the region than my son is in, Ontario, Canada, VEXIQ is very competitive. Although after provincial his team is rank 48th in world board, they did not get to go to World. If you calculate 48/6500 teams in total that would round his team up to be above 1% of all the teams. I know that many ontario teams are so good that they have to fly around to get world qualification from other places which help the remaining teams in ontario. I saw the other post where many teams that earned design awards have significantly much lower driving/ programming score combined and still get to go to world. It is very disheartening to see. I wish VEX would do something about it soon or help me explaining to the kids why their team despite being in top1%, they couldn’t attend world championships. Need to raise the awareness that some regions vex IQ are super competitive but still got allocated the spots same as other less competitive regions.

Number of spots for worlds is unfortunately based on the number of teams in the region not the level of competitiveness.

I don’t think so, because there would likely not be enough spots, due to so many teams from regional competitions qualifying.

Now that you mentioned, i think it makes sense. Comparing it to sport in olympic is a good way to explain it to the kid. Thank you for your input.
