2019 - 2020 VEX Robotics Competition - Tower Takeover

One thing that really strikes me is the necessity for finesse in stacking cubes. There are going to be a lot of unintentional self-descores from clumsy bots when these towers get tall.

Edit: spelling

This is perfect for reverse stacking. (That’s when add cubes to the bottom of your stack.)

hey so question, is there a carrying limit on the cubes? i looked through the rules and i couldnt really find anything about it

You better be real steady. What happens to cubes dropped out of the field?

Edit: Keep Cubes in the field. Teams may not intentionally remove Cubes from the field. While Cubes may accidentally leave the field when attempting to Score, doing so intentionally or repeatedly would be a violation of this rule. Cubes that leave the field during Match play, intentionally or unintentionally, will not be returned.

Are there or might they add rules against robots push other robots with cube stacks to causing the stack to fall.

yeah im looking for it to, at this point im thinking there is no limit

Anyone see any size expansion limits…

there is the protected zone for two of the four goal zones

there are none im pretty sure

are the cubes filled with water?

Also does anyone think that the games would be more interesting with pining allowed?

nope. that would suck real bad

One robot could pin two at once with no expansion limits, leaving their alliance partner to go score the points.

I would argue that it’d be boring to watch, if not unfair.

The robots would have defenses against that then

Is there a possession limit?

Back to Tower Takeover. What if a robot expanded to completely block the goal zone.

no one has found any
