I tried this, and I can confirm that a design like this works great (I will release a video soon). My version can do two balls at once instead of four, but the whole catapult idea and the storing a second load in your intake idea has been working great for me.
It looks like LRT field is set up differently than normal with 6 balls on the left not in the starting corral. Is this correct?
Correct, that is whatâs shown in figure 22 on page 33 of the game manual.
On this note, since both teams have a full field with 22 balls, does that make the max score 304 for LRT (as opposed to the 152 for skills and the 162 for in-person teamwork)?
2(22 balls x 6 points each + 10 for corrals + 10 for high hang) = 304 points
Hmm, I had calculated the max score for LRTs at 294 as follows:
- 2 starting corrals cleared = 10 pts
- 44 balls in high goals = 264 pts
- 2 high hanging robots = 20 pts
But reading through the LRT section of the manual, there is nothing that changes the definition of âstarting corralâ in LRTs even though only one of the two corrals on each field starts the match with balls in it. And the definition of âclearedâ just requires that there be no balls in the corral at the end of the match, no requirement that there were any balls in the corral to begin with. So it looks like in LRTs you get 10 points âfor freeâ as long as neither robot moves balls into the empty starting corral.
Fine by me, 304 is my favorite number anyway
.
Just for some closure, this question got resolved in v0.2 of the game manual:
