2026-27 VEX V5 Robotics Competition Game: Override

I really hope not! :smiling_face_with_tear:

missed that too before i came across that post.

Guess most of you were too young to remember the collapsing Skyrise towers.

We got clawbot meta lol

I pray that colored standoffs are legal but odds are no.

Dude, why do you want a cheeper, identical, and previously legal option last year to be illeagal.

OH I thought it said illegal

I hope they reverse r23

I don’t if this just me but has anyone thought about descore? There may be a one possession limit and you can’t knock towers over but… what if you has a bar of vertical flex wheels spinning and could lift and lower it so you flipped cones and cups off the tower one by one.

The reason is that some teams were buying third-party magnesium c-channels (stronger and lighter than aluminum), then painting them to make sure that judges couldn’t tell. It isn’t about the AprilTags, and it most certainly isn’t primarily a cash grab.

I don’t necessarily agree with the rule, but some people are getting really conspiratorial about it.

Really? I just looked it up and you are right, but I had sworn that my club’s sponsor told me otherwise. Still, the point still stands. I don’t necessarily believe that the intentions with the crackdown are ill, but the methods and execution has been harsh and inconsiderate.

Has anyone gotten an ETA on their field elements kit yet?

Mine already arrived, but I pre ordered

@DRow Where can we find the notebook template for Override?

They’re the same for every season.

I talked to our graphics team, and they said they’re hoping to have those released no later than the end of this week.

Apparently (I’m not totally sure) there was a chinese company that mas manufacturing titanium C-channel, making teams with them have lighter and stronger bots, and could disguise it by painting over it.

We also use the robosource color coded stand-offs, particually the 7/8". This is just so we can find them more easily. Given we are not modifying these ourselves, I’m assuming these and the black ones are legal?

actually, they get updated - minor to be sure for the main template, but the Digital Parts get updated with new parts and game each season.

But the template has the high stakes field, not the new override one and says 25-26?
