I think this is a great game, Iām ready for some design diversity instead of the robots being solved in August. As a senior, I love the challenging premise.
I think the drivetrain limit is a terrific idea, it encourages diverse robots. The 66W drivetrain is a staple of every single competitive robot. Time to change that
I really hope the GDCās gamble pays off and we see really multiple cool designs emerge.

The 55 watt limit is for the drivetrain, thatās what it says in the game reveal. Iād wait for the game manual to be released to further confirm that statement though.

Take a month off and close the books for VEX for a month or two. The first 1-2 months barely contribute to your finalized robot design.

After the MS Game reveal is typically around when it happens. typically around 7 or 8 pm est.
I like this. Instead of constantly enforcing design constraints, possession limits, and trying to complicate the scoring rules they need to allow teams to do a bunch of things at the same time. Making the scoring system simple, doesnāt mean the scoring objective is. Having a high or non existent possession limit and also an inherent need for teams to carry more than one of different things that arenāt very easily controlled by pneumatics would force teams to reconsider their 66w drivetrains.
Thatās not asking for broken bots, itās allowing for flexible creation of strategies. A higher wattage drivetrain might not score as well with the cups, but they will dominate the king of the hill at the end. This is a trade off they make when building their botā¦
