It’s always the people that barely miss worlds that are the best next year. Zach missed worlds as 929Y, then got to round robin the next year.
This bot is absolutely terrifying. You uploaded this reveal a couple hours after we started our fantasy for the event next weekend, and I picked 5588C over you. I feel cheated.
Cya Saturday
This is a fantastic robot! Great job!
Just curious, what was the reasoning for using small flaps?
by using the small flaps cubes won’t get caught when I try to stack on stacks
Quick q: how close are your flaps to the ground and how much space is there (since you’re using small flaps) in between rollers?
well I can’t give you an exact answer because I don’t know. I think the shortest distance between rollers is about 10 grids
What do you mean by grids? The thing on the die for 5? Or the holes on the side of a c-channel?
Also do your flaps contact mid low or high part of cube?
holes on c channels
I think my rollers contact the high part of cube
Ok interesting. I don’t know specifics of compression on mine but it contacts high part and I’ve been having trouble with stacking(flaps get in the way) and the motors overheat after intaking. Also the arms twist…
What does the bot look like in its starting position (in size)
My fist thoughts: wow, what an amazing bot! I’m sure glad we’re not in the same region!
… Wait a minute… we are in the same region! Will you be coming to the comp this Saturday (the 26th)?
Also, after paying closer attention, it seems that you haven’t used the high strength shafts on your dr4b, how on earth does that not bend/break the axles?
Yes I’ll be at the comp this Saturday. But I have to deal with both driving AND auton in 3 days, which is stressful…
we did use high strength shafts on the dr4b.
Ok, my team is currently in a big argument about whether 3 motor drive is ok. I think 3 motor drive is the best, but I think for this game it works just fine. 3 motor drive isn’t super preferable, but I think this robot is really good and has good potential. The only alternative to 3 motor drive I see is motor sharing or 1 motor intake which is kinda garbage.
What motor distribution do you have/what type of bot?
Currently Tray bot 7 motor 4 motor drive 1 motor tilt, 2 motor intake. I want to do a two motor lift, two motor intake, 1 motor tilt, and 3 motor drive.
I’d do a 1 motor lift, I’m assuming goofy style, that’s what I’m doing and you just have to gear it up
I’m taking about the robot showcased above (DR4B Lift)
Ok, then your probably best with the 3 motor drive
The goofy thing is decent, but isn’t that amazing because you can’t do towers while you have cubes which is kinda bad.
Agreed 20 Character…
