For our robot we have a really heavy claw that will hold 4 cubes that we are planning to mount on our Dr-4b, much like yours. Any tips for making the lift stronger?
I bet my intake system and tray is heavier than your claw. Iād suggest box the lower part of your lift and put some rubber bands on there. Also make sure you are using 100 rpm cartridge and 1:7 gear ratio

How did yāall set up your dr4b? We are planning on using 2 100rpm motors at 1:7 with lots of banding. Is this enough?

What size gears did you use on your intakes and also they are 200 rpm right
24t sprockets. Yes they are 200 rpm.
Do you know how far apart your rollers are?
Do your intakes ever burn out? We used to have 200 rpm motors but they would burn out (or freeze since v5 motors donāt do that) so we changed to 100 rpm for our competition. Any tips for that? Also, you said you have two sets of rubber bands to hold the lift down when at the bottom to stay in 18in. but you can also have more bands lifting it up. How exactly does that work and what angles should they be at ideally?

My intake motors never burn out, the only thing on our robot that overheat severely is the drive train. I honestly do not know how other people deal with intake overheating because I never had this problem. About the rubber banding on our lift, itās a bit complex and hard to explain. Iāll pm you when I have a chance.
OK. Iāll try 200 rpm again and check if I can see anything specifically causing an issue. I have a suspicion that the back paddles were hitting against a wheel or part of the lift. They arenāt anymore but I think they used to before we rebuilt the lift.
If youāre having trouble with the motors burning out on 24t 200rpm, you might want to try making your intake rollers more aligned with the tray and 18t 200rpm (what I use) might work better for you because it will have more ātorqueā than 24t.
