97963A Early Season Reveal

I love your design too. that 1m lift looks neat

Is there any tips you could give about how to create the tilter for the lift?

I used 1:7 100 rpm for my old bot in this reveal, and it had trouble tilting more than 9 cubes. I’m now using 1:21 200 rpm and it works great. the shape and structure of the tilter is also very important.

Hey, we have a similar design robot that can hold 7 cubes at the moment and tilt it. Its basically a tray bot on an rdfb like yours. Any tips on your deployment mechanism? Its quite hard to stack on stacks, and I was wondering how you did it so quickly and smoothly.

the rollers are on hinges so they get pushed away when tray is at vertical position. we also had passive locks on our tray, they prevent cubes from falling out

Do you have any tips for making a linear extender for the tray? We’re trying to make something similar.

Check post 36. I posted a picture of our slide there

How did you add passive locks on the tray that lock the cubes in place vertically but allow them to slide out horizontally?

the passive lock itself allows the cube to be release passively. the concept is illustrated in the pictures below:

Are those hinges the only thing supporting the cubes’ weight when the tray is vertical?

Yes they are. They are actually very strong and can hold at least 7 cubes

And there’s only one on each side of the bottom cube? That’s pretty good!

we can stack 8 on 8 or even more

O…kay?

2 months, bruh
