Arm for intake

To allow the intake the put the cubes in the goal zone

Ok the tilter in the video is the same design most robots use. It still tends to work on simple tray bots.

This forum post gives a few insightful points

Ok. Can you post a clearer pic of it

49 seconds in the video it shows how the tilter looks and works

Ok thanks. Do you have to have the same gear ratio for the bottom of the titler in order for it to work?

No, you probably should use a different gear ratio

What would be the best gear ratio

And we don’t have that much space inside of our base

So what would be a simpler way to do that?

Thanks for the help by the way

Well i can’t give you a good anwser, but it depends on the amount of cubes you want to intake and the size of your tray and whether you are using steel or aluminum.
So you want to use the minimum while still being able to have enough power to tilt and you might want to consider low strength gears since they don’t take up much space

This is a picture of my team’s frame, we cut a big gear in half so that we could screw the gear inside the c channel

The gear ratio visible is good enough to turn the tray with cubes

Ok. Thank you so much people.

Last thing, I would recommend sandwiching either the gear with 2 c channels or, a c channel with 2 gears. This will be very stable and should reduce any wobbling or bending.

Ok that would work but our base is really packed. All we have room for is one gear and a c channel and of course one motor
