you can’t argue that part of non functional decoration is “functional” in that it keeps itself from falling apart. by that logic the adhesive on a sticker would be “functional” because without it the sticker would fall off.

You could just use steel screws and nylon nuts. Those are still legal, and you’d probably save the same amount of weight. Of course, I don’t think that this is really about saving weight anymore.

Become ungovernable, use Nylon C channal and tungsten screws.
