The all purpose black dye has been simmering on the stove for two hours and it’s still only somewhat black

Best images I have showing the black gears and chain

the chain isn’t that huge a difference since it was dark gray to begin with, but it is noticeable.

Those turned out pretty good, the chain isn’t super different though. Did you use boiling water in a saucepan and acetone?
I’m also curious about the yellow metal in the background, I assume that those are just spray painted?

It’s definetely black when you see it, photos don’t really convey that the best. Worth doing imo, looks better.

not boiling, just simmering. And no acetone, just the dye. I didn’t really measure it out either, just poured in what I thought was enough dye, and kept adding more when it started slowing down.

yeah just spray paint.

Okay, just one more question. Did you have any problems cleaning out the pan? Did the dye stain it or anything? I want to do this, but I don’t want my mom to kill me.

no the pan is completely clean and fine. It’s just a cheapo stainless steel pan.

And the dye is not staining on things like metal or tile or anything. I splashed some on my oven and it wiped off just fine with wet paper towels.

Just try to not get it on any fabric especially.

Sometimes, it can’t focus and the camera does indeed shake violently sometimes. it has a clicking noise.

Oh gosh not again.

Just don’t go making anymore posts about parts being out of stock.

Taran probably has a 3rd arm hidden somewhere from all the chemicals she cooks up.

Taran is going to win a Nobel prize in chemistry.

Some day because of all of the chemicals Taran throws stuff in he is going to invent a new chemical

i was going to sugest the name omni-chem, but the name omni-chem is already taken www.omni-chem.com

She/they
Nothing wrong with not knowing, I’m just prompting for the future and the edit button

Thanks for reminding me

lol, thanks Parker. I appreciate that.

Forget Nobel prize, she’s gonna open up the first robotics restaurant….I would preemptively like to order horribly deformed gear pasta, thanks.

Void in the field during a match anyone?

Kinda off topic, but can anyone point me in the direction of some competition legal black rubber bands?

I haven’t tried these so I don’t know if they work,

Black High Heat UV Resistant #32 Platinum Rubber Crepe Band (3" x 1/8") Premium Angler Rubberbands (32-1/4lb) Amazon.com

But they’re legal. As long as they’re size #16 or #32.
