I’ll bring you one lol. I’ll probably make some for all the refs because this is just too funny
( i wont actually do that because thats a lot of rings but it would be funny if i did. I’ll bring you one if you want though.)

That one freshman team after getting their 60 points driver skills. (Not to make fun of them, I’m just saying their reactions were priceless ;D)
I wonder If I just set my clock back a few days they will change with it
that’s how the world works right?
Me explaining to the ref why my opponent needs to be DQed for R6, because they have green HS gears on their robot:

did I miss something or is this actually true?

A q and a said this:
In general, the official VEX website can be used as the definitive resource regarding current part availability / legality. Discontinued products that are no longer found on the VEX website are no longer considered “part of the VEX V5 system” (in the context of R6) and are therefore not legal for use.
Technically, the green HS gears aren’t on the vex website anymore (except for 36 tooth). So technically the green HS gears are illegal. A quick G3 should still let you use them though as the red ones are identical in every way but color and are still legal.
There is, however, a note on the catalog page which reads as follows:
Note: We have begun transitioning the color of some Gears from Green to Red. The color received may not match the listed product photo.
Since this note appears on the official Vex catalog page, it would be pretty clear that Vex is telling us both colors are legal.
Yea, I’m going to be a little more than annoyed if color now matters.
I’d really like to see them allow IQ gears in VRC so we can use team colors. ![]()
Next they will say the old claws are no longer legal.
My team would also be pretty annoyed seeing as we have alternating red and green gears on our lift (we rebuilt our lift around Christmas time so we put one red and one green on each side because it seemed festive and fun, and we just kept it because it looks pretty cool too). It would really suck if the color mattered now because it would be a pain in the butt to change it now.
Here is a picture of our robot from around the time we put the gears like this (Please ignore how janky it is, we have made major improvements since then and it’s actually made well now). You can’t see the gears very well but it’s the best pic I have of them right now.
Not to mention schools with small budgets.
A “budget” from a school would be cool! We’re a community team and raise all our own money through sponsorships, grants, and running events.
That being said, I agree it is disheartening when things go obsolete. We had thousands of dollars of cortex equipment when we switched to V5. I’m really hoping we switch from a “catalog page legality” to a legal parts list, and maybe some of these discontinued parts will stick around for a while on the legal parts list.
Freshmen, the best to watch due to their joy of beating their own records instead of looking around them. Always brightens my day at least a little
Me, a freshmen, happy to see that we are nearly hitting the 300 hundred mark in skills
Other teams: hits near 800 skills points

Keep it to the vex quotes
When your sister team gets a bad schedule and ranks 23rd place in qualifications.

Ended up winning the tournament with them
