I think you’ve got it all wrong. It’s not about the type of thread on the forums, it’s about whether you want to be productive in the lab or fun on the forums. While sure, the fun threads are, well, fun, they don’t actually help a whole lot with robotics. I think that we should acknowledge them as what they are (entertainment) and keep a limited ratio of them to productive threads. Sure, they’re fun, and I like them too, but when I start ignoring robotics because I want to use the forums as social media, then maybe it’s time to consider having a few less fun threads. Yes, for all of you wondering, I’m a hypocrite.
